  • Nadi Prikshan ( Pulse Analysis ) also known Sparshana
  • Darshana ( Visual Analysis )
  • Prashana ( Questionnaire about daily life style and emotional status )

In the next few articles we will discuss more in depth description of each of the doshas, starting with the physical characteristics and then examining mental tendencies. As you read these, you will probably find that you relate to one dosha more than the others. However, it is quite possible that aspect of two doshas will ring true to you; this is, in fact, fairly common. If you find yourself relating to two, you will likely notice that one of them is a bit stronger than other. In rare instance, a person will have equal proportion of all three doshas. What this means, in effect, is that your constitution could be described by one of ten possibilities. They are:

Vata                                                  Pitta                                       Kapha

Vata-Pitta                                        Pitta-Vata                             Kapha-Vata

Vata-Kapha                                     Pitta-Kapha                          Kapha-Pitta

Vata-Pitta-Kapha

In a Vata-Pitta combination, Vata is a bit more dominant than Pitta, while in Pitta-Vata combination, Pitta is stronger than Vata and so on. Also, to complicate things still further, some times people have physical characteristic of one dosha, while their mental trendies comes from another dosha. The Vata-Pitta-Kapha  combination is very unusual and is said to be the best, most innately balanced type.
