Home Remedies for Amoebic Dysentery

In Ayurveda Amoebic Dysentery known as “Pravahika” 

Pravahika, as described in Ayurveda text, can be compared with a type of diarrhea often marked by the constant passage of mucus mixed with stool.  Pravahika is caused by the infection of Entamoeba histolytica, a Protozoan. It is important to address Pravahika promptly, as it can lead to significant dehydration and other gastrointestinal disturbances. Dysentery Home Remedies

  1. Take approx. 1 tablespoon of dried powder of Bilgiri (seed of Aegle marmelos) mixed with honey. Take twice a day.
  2. Mix half gram powdered nutmeg in buttermilk and take it twice a day.
  3. Take 5 to 10 ml of juice extracted from juvenile leaflets and flowers of Neem once or twice a day.
  4. Take pulp of fruit of Bael mixed with some Jaggery is best Ayurvedic remedies dysentery.
  5. Take infusion of lemon on an empty stomach.
  6. Mix the powder of Isabgol with yogurt and some roasted cumin seeds. Take this mixture 2 or 3 times in a day.
  7. Mix the powdered seeds of Henna with little Ghee and take it twice a day.
  8. For chronic Amoebiasis, roast the pulp of the unripe fruit of Bael and mix it with an equal quantity of dried Ginger powder. Take this with butter milk 2 or 3 times.
  9. The seeds of Isabgol, when roasted, tend to bind the loose stool and are recommend as a natural remedies dysentery.
  10. Take the powder prepared from the dried flowers of mango tree.
