Diarrhea is common digestive disorder occur due to imbalance of bodily three doshas. Ayurveda emphasizes a natural approach to managing this condition. Ayurvedic treatment for diarrhea focuses on restoring digestive balance, eliminating toxins, and strengthening gut health.
Characteristic Symptom
- Looseness of bowel and an increase in frequency and fluidity of stools.
- The stool turn copious and more in volume.
Ayurvedic View
Six types of diarrhea or Atisaar have been specified:
a. Caused by vitiation of air body humor.
b. Caused by vitiation of fir body humor.
c. Caused by vitiation of phlegm body humor.
d. Caused by vitiation of all three body humors.
e. Caused by mental state of grief, etc.
f. Caused by indigestion of previous meal.
Diarrhea Home Remedies
- Extract pulp of fruit of bilva and roast it. Mix it with an equal quantity of jaggery and take it twice a day.
- Make an infusion with the bark of babool and take it every 6 hours.
- Pound the dried seeds of bael in to a powder. Take 3 to 5 gram with water 2-3 times a day.
- Take 1 to 3 gram of the powdered seeds of henna.
- Pound nutmeg, dried ginger, seeds of bael and atis in to a powder. Take approx.. one forth table spoon of this powder twice with water.
- Roast seeds of isabgol bind loose stool.
- Take equal quantities of dried ginger powder and powdered rock salt. Mix one forth tablespoon in to some jaggery and take this twice a day.
- Take 3 to 6 gram of powder of the dried seeds of jamun in chronic diarrhea.
- Take a powder prepared from the dried flowers of mango tree.
- Mix 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon, ginger and cumin powder with honey to make a paste. Take 1 teaspoon three times a day
- Sufficient intake of water and liquid foods is always advised in diarrhea.
